APW - Waltham, American Watch Co, Model 1888, 19J, 16S, heavy 14K gold original Solidarity HC with spectacular engraving detail including a seaside village scene to front, majestic buck scene to rear, scalloped band, gold cuvette with 1902 inscription, white enamel SS dial with "A.W.Co." signature in distinctive Old English font, SW-SS, lever escapement with capped escape wheel, ornate nickel damascene, s#5000244. Gross weight of assembled watch 80.4 dwt (125.1 g). A beautiful example of this attractive top grade Model 1888.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, some marring tight around stem detent screw, few small fine to micro-fine scratches elsewhere, winding wheels with some scattered very small bits of oxide; nearly flawless dial with fine to micro-fine scratch at center above hands; fine hands, oxide to tip of minute; case shows hardly any wear, prominent scratch inside rear, some scratches to cuvette from slipped past openings, superb engraving detail; tight bow, crown shows light wear; good glass crystal.
